Are Yeti Coolers Made in the USA?

Yeti Tundra Cooler

It depends on the product. Some Tundra hard coolers are made in Iowa and Wisconsin — but others in the same product line come from the Philippines. Yeti’s Rambler drinkware and Hopper soft coolers are made in China.  The physical label on the product is the only reliable way to know which one you’re holding.

Yeti is headquartered in Austin, Texas, and markets itself with heavy American outdoor imagery. The products are designed in Texas. Most of them are not made there.

What's Made in the USA — Sometimes

Some Tundra hard coolers are manufactured at facilities in Iowa and Wisconsin. Yeti also uses a facility in the Philippines for Tundra production. Both can appear on shelves at the same time with no easy way to distinguish them online.

The only way to confirm a USA-made Tundra is to check the label on the physical product. Retailer websites — including Yeti’s own site — do not indicate which facility a specific unit came from. If you’re buying in a store, check the tag. If you’re buying online, you have traditionally been able to contact Yeti customer support to request a unit from their US production run, but there is no guarantee of availability. Otherwise you might get one from the Philippines, but you won’t get a Tundra from China.

No other Yeti product line currently has US manufacturing.

What's Made in China

The Rambler line — tumblers, bottles, mugs, jugs — is made in China. So are the Hopper soft coolers, the Roadie coolers, the Panga duffel bags, and most accessories. Yeti’s own website confirms this. The “Designed in Texas” language on packaging is not a country-of-origin claim.
If you’re buying a Yeti tumbler or soft cooler, it is made in China.

Yeti announced a plan to move 80% of its production out of China by the end of 2025, so they are heading in the right direction.

How to Check a Specific Product

Country of origin is required by law on imported goods. For Yeti products, the label is typically on the bottom of drinkware and on a tag attached to coolers. “Designed in Texas” is not an origin statement. Look specifically for “Made in USA,” “Made in China,” or “Made in Philippines.”
For Yeti specifically, origin information is frequently missing or incorrect on third-party listings.
