Batteries and Cables Not Made in China
Low-cost everyday products are where the China manufacturing concentration is most complete โ and most consequential. Things like batteries, light bulbs, charging cables and similar are purchased by nearly every household, replaced frequently, and almost never examined for country of origin.
This page covers what’s actually available, verified against manufacturer disclosures and product labels. Some categories have solid options. One โ light bulbs โ is essentially impossible to source outside China at mainstream retail. We’ll say so directly rather than pretend otherwise.
This guide highlights verified brands and products that are not made in China, with a focus on performance, longevity, and ethical manufacturing.

We verify current country-of-origin disclosures, manufacturer statements and independent sourcing information. When production locations change, we update our recommendations.
Best Batteries, Cables and Household Products Not Made in China โ Quick Comparison
Battery and Cable Brands Not Made in China
Batteries Not Made in China
1. ๐บ๐ธ Duracell
Duracell’s US-market alkaline batteries โ AA, AAA, C, D and 9V โ are manufactured in the United States, specifically in Georgia and Tennessee. This has been confirmed by Costco, which repackages Duracell cells under the Kirkland Signature label and explicitly sources from the US facilities.
Duracell is owned by Berkshire Hathaway since 2016 and maintains manufacturing in the US despite global competition. The company invested $56 million in a new Georgia research and development facility in early 2025.
Important exception: Button cell batteries (CR2032, watch batteries, hearing aid batteries) are a different story. Duracell button cells are manufactured in multiple countries including China and Belgium depending on the size and batch. The large alkaline batteries are domestic. The small specialty batteries are not reliably so. Check the label on button cell packaging before purchasing.
*Recommended: Duracell Coppertop Double AA Batteries, 24 Count – around $19
2. ๐บ๐ธ Energizer
Energizer manufactures alkaline batteries in the United States at facilities in Missouri, Ohio, and other domestic locations. Like Duracell, their primary alkaline line for the US market is domestically produced. Energizer also owns Rayovac, which is made in the US.
The same exception applies: specialty batteries and button cells from Energizer may come from Indonesia, Singapore, or other locations. The label on each package is the controlling document.
*Recommended: Energizer Ultimate Lithium AA Batteries, 24 Pack – around $43
3. ๐ฏ๐ต Panasonic Eneloop
For rechargeable batteries specifically, Panasonic’s Eneloop line is manufactured in Japan and is the most verifiable non-China rechargeable option available at mainstream retail. Eneloop batteries are made at Panasonic’s Sumoto factory in Japan and carry a clear “Made in Japan” designation.
The chargers in bundle packs are made in China โ buy batteries-only if origin matters. Verify by checking the back of the package or the text printed on each battery.
The cost is higher than disposable alkalines but the lifecycle cost over hundreds of recharge cycles makes them competitive. For devices used frequently โ game controllers, TV remotes, flashlights โ Eneloop is the most practical non-China rechargeable option.
*Recommended: Eneloop Panasonic Ni-MH Pre-Charged Rechargeable Batteries, 8 Pack – around $24
Charging Cables Not Made in China
This is a harder category. Anker โ the dominant brand at most retailers โ is a Chinese company headquartered in Changsha, Hunan, with all manufacturing in China. It is not an alternative for origin-conscious buyers.
4. ๐ป๐ณ Belkin
Belkin was founded in 1983 in Hawthorne, California and is headquartered in El Segundo. The company has been shifting some manufacturing from China to Vietnam. Their charging cables, some wireless chargers, and USB accessories now include Vietnam-manufactured products.
Belkin is now owned by Foxconn Interconnect Technology, a Taiwanese company, since 2018. Products are designed in California.
How to verify: Belkin products vary by manufacturing location. Check the individual product packaging โ the country of origin appears on the box. Not all Belkin products are Vietnam-made; some are still China-manufactured. The packaging label is the controlling document.
*Recommended: Belkin USB C to USB C Cable, 3.3ft, 60W – around $7
5. ๐น๐ผ Moshi
Moshi makes premium charging cables and accessories manufactured in Taiwan. They compete with Anker at a higher price point and position on build quality and cable durability. Their braided USB-C and Lightning cables are well-reviewed and verifiably Taiwanese-made.
Moshi is less widely available in physical retail than Belkin but is sold on Amazon and the company’s own website.
*Recommended: Moshi Integra USB C Cable 6.6ft/2m, Fast Charge Up to 100W – around $28
Extension Cords and Power Strips Not Made in China
6. ๐บ๐ธ Southwire
Southwire is one of the largest wire and cable manufacturers in the United States, headquartered in Carrollton, Georgia, where they have manufactured since 1950. Their extension cords are made in the US and widely available at Home Depot, Lowe’s, and hardware stores.
Southwire is a private, family-owned company. They produce residential extension cords, outdoor cords, and heavy-duty contractor cords at US facilities. Extension cord packaging clearly states country of origin โ look for “Made in USA” on Southwire products specifically.
*Recommended: Southwire Coldflex Light Duty Extension Cord – 16/3 Gauge SJTW – around $21
Light Bulbs - the Bad News
Standard household LED bulbs are essentially impossible to source outside China at mainstream retail in 2026. Philips, GE, Sylvania, and Osram all manufacture their standard bulbs in China. Sylvania assembled bulbs in Pennsylvania and Kentucky briefly after 2018, but those facilities closed in 2019. The Sylvania “Made in USA” products still appearing on Amazon are either old stock or have outdated listings.
The practical advice: buy whatever is rated highly for longevity. A bulb that lasts a decade generates one supply chain transaction instead of ten.
