Finding made in USA gifts for her takes more digging than it should. Fashion, jewelry, beauty and fragrance are some of the most heavily imported categories in American retail, and they are also the categories where brand origin and manufacturing origin drift furthest apart. A label can carry an American founder's name, an American address and an American aesthetic while the product itself is produced on another continent. Shoppers who care where a gift was made usually have to work that out on their own.
We did that work for the ten brands below. Each one was checked against manufacturer disclosures, company statements and independent sourcing information, and each entry says plainly where the product is made. Some brands are American made from raw material to finished piece. Others make one product line domestically and import the rest, and in those cases the entry tells you which items to buy and which to skip, because the difference is not always visible on the listing.
The picks cover skincare, handbags, sunglasses, candles, jewelry, fragrance and shoes, from stocking stuffers to a statement piece. 1. 🇺🇸 Paula's Choice
Most prestige skincare sold in the United States is formulated in one country and filled in another. Paula's Choice does both in Seattle, where its exfoliants, serums and moisturizers are formulated and manufactured. Paula Begoun started the company in 1995, and Unilever bought it in 2021 without moving production. 2. 🇺🇸 Duluth Pack
Since 1882, Duluth Pack has been sewing canvas and leather by hand in Duluth, Minnesota, which makes it the oldest bag maker of its kind in the country. There are no offshore production lines. The materials are heavy-duty canvas, full-grain leather and solid brass hardware, and every piece carries a lifetime guarantee backed by an in-house repair service. The Traverse Crossbody is the one to give: a front pocket for small things, a slash pocket on the back for a phone, and a main compartment sized for a day out.

3. 🇺🇸 American Giant
Plenty of clothing is sewn in the United States from imported fabric. American Giant goes further back than that. Its heavyweight sweatshirts, tees and fleece are made domestically from the yarn stage through final finishing, a supply chain that has largely disappeared from American apparel. 4. 🇺🇸 Shwood
Wood frames are unusual enough. Wood frames built entirely in-house, from veneering through lens cutting, are rarer still. Shwood has been doing exactly that in Portland, Oregon since 2009, using hardwoods from the Pacific Northwest. The Canby and the Francis are its best-known styles, and prices run from about $95 to $185. 5. 🇺🇸 Keystone Candles
Candles look like an easy American-made category until you check where the wax comes from. Keystone pours its candles in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, using American-grown soy and paraffin wax, and it remains one of the few candle makers still operating at real scale in the United States, supplying retail and wholesale customers alike. 6. 🇺🇸 Luca + Danni
Rhode Island was once the costume jewelry capital of the country, and Luca + Danni comes out of that tradition. The brand launched in 2014 from a family jewelry factory in Cranston that dates back to 1955, and the factory is still where its bangles and charm bracelets are finished. The pieces are brass with gold-tone and silver-tone finishes, and the detail work is applied by hand in Cranston.

7. 🇺🇸 Metal Alchemist
Carolyn Rafaelian built Alex and Ani on the promise of Rhode Island manufacturing. After leaving that company, she started Metal Alchemist in 2022, and the new brand designs, forges and finishes its jewelry in Rhode Island using metals mined in the United States. Pieces range from about $28 to $2,800, which covers everything from a first bracelet to a significant gift. Metal Alchemist sells through Reeds Jewelers and its own stores rather than Amazon.
Best for: a fine jewelry gift with a fully domestic story

8. 🇺🇸 Demeter Fragrance Library
An American fragrance brand is rarely an American-made fragrance. Demeter is one of the exceptions. Its cologne sprays are made at the company's own Pennsylvania factory, filled by hand or on semi-automatic lines and finished by hand. The formulas skip phthalates and parabens and use alcohol distilled from corn. The catalog runs to hundreds of single-note scents, and the winter ones, such as Snow, make it an easy fit for a December gift at a low price.
Best for: the person who likes a scent no one else is wearing

9. 🇺🇸 SAS
Fit is where most shoe gifts fail, and fit is where SAS is strongest. The company has cut and stitched its comfort shoes by hand in San Antonio since 1976, and it offers 88 size and width combinations for women, from slim and narrow through double and triple wide in select styles. 10. 🇺🇸 New Balance Made in USA
New Balance is the last major athletic footwear brand still making shoes in the United States. Its Made in USA line, the 990, 992, 993 and 1300, comes out of five factories in Massachusetts and Maine, with a sixth facility in Londonderry, New Hampshire that opened in 2025. What to Avoid
Alex and Ani is the clearest example of why brand history is not a manufacturing guarantee. The company built its reputation on Rhode Island production. After a 2021 bankruptcy, a private equity firm took majority control, and in 2023 the company left its Rhode Island headquarters and outsourced fulfillment. We could not find any current statement from Alex and Ani about where its jewelry is made, so it does not appear on this list.
The same gap shows up across fragrance. Many well-known American fragrance houses produce abroad, and a brand's nationality says nothing about where the bottle was filled. Mass-market fashion jewelry, unbranded leather goods and most beauty tools should be assumed imported unless a specific manufacturer is documented.
