Where Is Lodge Cast Iron Made?

Lodge is one of the oldest continuously operating cast iron foundries in the United States. The company was founded by Joseph Lodge in 1896 in South Pittsburg, a small town in southeast Tennessee. It has never moved production overseas.
The foundry melts iron, pours it into sand molds, and finishes each piece at the same facility. Lodge employs several hundred workers in a town of roughly 3,000 people. For a single employer in a small community, that’s a significant presence.
Cast iron manufacturing is not easily outsourced. This is different from “Assembled in USA,” which can mean components from anywhere. Lodge’s manufacturing origin is genuine.
What to Watch For
Lodge makes more than cast iron. Their product line includes bakeware, accessories, and some cookware pieces that are not cast iron. Not all of these carry the same origin story.
If you’re buying Lodge specifically because you want American-made cast iron, check the label on the specific item. The skillets, dutch ovens, griddles, and grill pans — the core cast iron line — are made in Tennessee. Some Lodge-branded accessories and non-cast-iron items may not be.
When in doubt, check the label. Country of origin is legally required on imported goods. If it says “Made in USA,” it does under Lodge’s core line.
